Last night, in my sleepy river town, we gathered to honor the season, our ancestors, and the ultimate teacher: Death.
This was our second year in a row hosting this gathering in my town & I am again blown away by the response.
Guests were served a four-course meal along with discussion prompts to explore death.
Each guest was given a rose and bay leaf to take home to use as offerings for their loved ones.
They placed photos on the altar and spoke their ancestral lineages into the space.
Laughter, tears, and heart-opening shares filled the air, feeding the loved ones on the other side with so much life… I could feel it.
Connection was woven and by the end, folks were hugging and exchanging numbers to continue deepening.
We explored a topic we’ve been conditioned out of facing & the result was pure love.
People are READY to lean in and towards each other in the face of death and grief.
Ready to remember that it’s human nature.
My passion is weaving community magic and resilience through life’s blessings and hardships and it’s such a gift to see it take root here.
I am SO grateful to this town and for the incredible hearts here ready to connect and create more beauty.
If you’re inspired by this, stay tuned, I’ll be sharing an opportunity soon to learn more about this work.
This is stunning. I’m devouring your words and creations at the moment!
