Hello, out there <3
Sending out signals of love to you all. Hoping you can take a moment to take a deep breath and feel into your heart space.
As the unraveling of destructive systems continues to unfold, I feel one truth getting louder.
Community is medicine. Community is where we find support and create solutions.
So I am creating a space for women of all ages to come together to process, express, and resource ourselves amongst one another’s power and wisdom.
On Wednesday, June 29th at 5 pm EST, I am hosting a virtual support circle. Here is the zoom link to join.
This event is free but I ask that if you feel called, you can make a donation to the National Abortion Access Fund for Survivors.
This event is simply born out of the growing need for community solidarity and for those with wombs to come together and vision new systems of support.
The intention for intergenerational connections comes from my experience of being blessed with multiple deep friendships with women who are almost double my age or more. These relationships have fueled me in countless ways (& I will be sharing more on that later) and I am consistently told how the benefits are mutual. Sharing our wisdom is crucial.
Lastly, I have titled the event Tend and Befriend for a very specific reason. Tend and Befriend is a trauma/stress response that female humans and animals partake in. There are well-known responses of fight, flight, and freeze. The fawn response is gaining popularity, but there is also Tend and Befriend - meaning that when a crisis hits… We gather. We share. We sing. We cry. We dance. We make medicine. We create solutions.
So my intention for this is simple: Tend and Befriend.
If you have any questions or would like more details, please reach out at belovedgateway@gmail.com.
I’ll see you on Wednesday.
Much love,
Lisa xx
If you or someone you know is looking for additional support, I am still hosting 1:1 sessions for story sharing. Reach out if you’d like to be witnessed. <3
Excellent idea, Lisa. Years ago, the intergenerational gathering I designed and hosted for the library was successful in helping generations understand and befriend one another.
Now, in these times of huge stress and anxiety, your gathering is needed.
My rural, phone only internet service doesn't much like Zoom, but you know I'll try to listen.
Hugs,
Julianne
